She Remembered the Poet….{art journal page}

I’m excited to share my first art journal page, created in my vintage book. :) I found this fantastic 1903 photo of a famous model, modeling eye makeup. I adore her intense look. It brings up so many thoughts about her life. So, I made up my own story.

I think she’s thinking of a deep past relationship, with a Jack Karouac type, a poet and writer, who wooed her with words.

The background is stenciling using an UmWowStudio stencil, as well as punchinella and ink. I used 7 Dots Studio 9th Wave papers, in strips throughout, as well.

I completed the embellishing, with lace that had become detached from a vintage tea towel. I love it’s worn, raggedy appearance.

I’m pleased with how my first page came out, and I can’t wait to work again in my journal. I have alllllllll sorts of vintage photos to use…some with a lot of funny character. ;)
I hope you’re doing well this Monday! Here’s a cheers to a great week ahead……..hopefully.

    I love how you have kept yourself in your art journaling. That sounds weird, but I know so many people who try to be someone else and make pages that follow fashions and not their hearts. I have been thinking that this year I might give art journaling a try. Maybe I shouldn’t call it art journaling, but an experiment book. There is so much I would like to try but I am a chicken and don’t like to mess up. It could be my excuse to go wild :)

    Stunning stunning page… found you via the UmWow page and am completely blown away by what I’ve seen here with even a quick browse, so I’ve signed up so as not to miss anything in future!!
    Huge congrats on the 7Dots gig too… can’t wait to see what you create with their amazing papers.
